Young Researcher AwardECT Foundation's Young Researcher Award is presented to the best paper reporting on a quantitative or qualitative study addressing a question related to educational technology. The winner paper will receive special consideration for publication in Educational Technology Research and Development (ETR&D), the refereed scholarly research journal published by the AECT, Association for Educational Communications and Technology. A cash award of $500 with a plaque of achievement will be presented at the Awards ceremony during the 2010 annual convention to be held October 26-30, 2010 at Hyatt Regency Orange County, Anaheim, California. Criteria: An individual who does not hold a doctorate degree, or who received a doctorate not more than five (5) years prior to November 1, 2009. Co-authorship is acceptable provided that the Young Researcher applicant is the primary author. The paper must be an original unpublished investigation dealing with research in educational technology. The paper must be a report of a specific research study. It must be 25-35 pages long, excluding references, and must conform to the Style Manual of the American Psychological Association, 4th Ed. The selection of the winning paper will be the responsibility of the Young Researcher selection committee which was appointed by the board of the Research and Theory Division of AECT. Only research papers judged significant of the award will win. An award will not be made if none of the entries are deemed worthy.
