This AECT award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a long-term record of excellence in research in the field of instructional design and technology. The award was established to remember the significant scholarly contributions made to the IDT field by Dr. David H. Jonassen.
Significant scholarly activity.
Need not be a member of AECT.
Quality of research activity and trajectory and the Impact of the research on the field of IDT.
Supporting comments and evidence from additional contributors.
All required documentation submitted.
Nominations are coordinated and reviewed by the AECT Awards Committee, and recommendations for the award recipient(s) are forwarded to AECT Executive Committee for consideration and approval by the AECT Board. A review team led by a member of the AECT Awards Committee and comprised of selected committee members and non-members including a previous award recipient recommends to the Chair candidates to be forwarded.

The nomination should include a detailed description of the nominee’s research trajectory and the impact of the scholarship on the field of IDT. Nominations should not exceed 500 words.
Comments from an additional three references or co-nominators must be submitted in order for the nomination to be considered. An email will be sent to each reference or co-nominator requesting comments.
