AECT membership is a wonderful gift!
Dear Fellow AECT Members,
May marks the end of the academic year, often a time for celebrating completion of degree requirements and graduation. What better time to give a gift of AECT membership? What better gift to celebrate your students’ successful defense of a dissertation, or a colleague’s publication, or some other academic achievement?
If you’re like me, you’ve discovered that interaction with other educators is one of the richest forms of professional development we can ever experience. My professional community is AECT, Association of Educational Communications and Technology. The relationships I have built with other AECT members over my career are invaluable to my professional growth.
Because I’ve taught in high school, community college, and university settings, I especially appreciate the diversity of the AECT membership. It’s the one community where I can consult with a middle school teacher or a university professor or a corporate trainer. I can communicate with AECT affiliates in Korea, China, Australia, or the Netherlands—or in any state in the U.S. And now I have the option to interact virtually with other AECT members and attend virtual professional development seminars within our Second Life community.
There’s no better way to access the latest research activities or best practices or the business of educational technology than in AECT journals and publications. And the annual convention and other leadership and professional development functions enrich and inspire my professional life.
AECT membership is a wonderful gift!
I’m encouraging you to help a friend to join this vibrant professional community. Everything I’ve described above is available to every AECT member. We’d love to welcome your students or your colleagues as new members at a special first-timer gift rate of $75. To access this discounted rate, use the above login form and follow the easy ordering process. Your friends will receive a welcome packet so that they can enjoy AECT membership benefits immediately.
Thanks for supporting AECT community! May your summer be a time for rest, recreation, and rejuvenation for the coming year.
Patricia Miller, President AECT
