About the Definition and Terminology Committee

The following statement was approved by the AECT Board of Directors in June of 2004 and now stands as the organizations 'official' definition. Educational Technology is the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate technological processes and resources. The new definition will soon be published as an edited book. The explanatory chapter/contributions to this edited book will be available for member/attendee review at the upcoming AECT convention in Dallas.
