Call for AECT 2010 “Hot Topics” Presentations
'Learning in the Age of Globalization'
Louisville, Kentucky
Concurrent Sessions: October 31-November 3
Workshop Sessions: Tue. October 30 , Wed. October 31, & Sat. November 3
This year’s AECT Annual Convention in Anaheim, CA offers the opportunity for you to share late-breaking developments in your research or best-practices in a new “Hot Topics” strand. This invitation to submit original work is meant to feature very recent discoveries and outcomes that have significance to our field and that have the potential to influence practice in our discipline. Inclusion of this new category of presentations offers authors the opportunity to disseminate contemporary initiatives in a timely manner. The authors’ ability to document why their proposal should be considered for this strand will be critical in the selection process. Abstracts of late-breaking original proposals will be accepted from July 15 to August 15, 2010.
Click here to access the online submission form.
Successful authors will be notified before August 30.
Proposals Open – July 15, 2010
Proposals Close – August 15th, 2012

After you submit your proposal, you will receive electronic notification that it has been received. The peer review process begins as soon as proposals are submitted and will be completed by August 30, 2010.
You will receive electronic notification that your proposal has been received and, by August 30, 2010 you will notified whether it has been accepted or rejected for the Hot Topics strand.
Proposals are reviewed through a blind, peer-reviewed process, using the following criteria:
- Clarity of the proposal and the quality of writing.
- Quality of proposed session’s content, organization and format.
- Relevance, timeliness, and general interest level of the topic.
- Match to the convention theme(s) and other demands of the program.
- Suitability for division/affiliate or organization mission and membership.
Notification of results of review process:
You will receive notification whether your proposal has been accepted or rejected by August 30, 2010. If accepted, you will be required to complete an Acceptance/Verification Form acknowledging receipt of an acceptance letter and verifying your commitment to make the presentation at AECT 2010, Anaheim. Recognizing that all convention attendees are part of a shared community of research, practice, and professional growth and that convention registrations enable us to provide a strong convention, accepted proposers who do not register will not be scheduled for presentation (and thus will never appear in any printed program or other document). It is the responsibility of the key presenter to notify all individuals involved in the presentation as to the status of the proposal. All presenters participating at convention must preregister in order to present.
