Convention Volunteers
|
In conjunction with the AECT Graduate Student Assembly, AECT has created a new multi-tier volunteer system for its approximately 70 volunteers, who play an important role with the daily details of the AECT convention.
Volunteers can help in the following capacities:
Full-Time Volunteers (12 Hours)
Full-time volunteers will be able to register for the convention at the reduced rate of $45.00 ($195 student rate - $150 discount). Full-time volunteers will report to a Volunteer Supervisor.
Part-Time Volunteers (6 Hours)
Part-time volunteers will be able to register for the convention at the reduced rate of $125.00 ($195 student rate - $75 discount). Part-time volunteers will report to a Volunteer Supervisor.
Skilled Volunteers-Registration Waived/12 hours of work
Approximately 5 skilled volunteers with technical expertise will be selected. Dalinda Bond, AECT Technical Facilities Coordinator, will send the acceptance notice for these positions. Upon this notification, your entire conference registration is waived in exchange for 12 hours of work helping with technology issues.
Volunteer Supervisors-Registration Waived/12 hours of work
Approximately 10 volunteer supervisors with previous experience as volunteers will be selected. They will oversee a particular area (such as registration, equipment, etc.) and will train a team of volunteers to their tasks, oversee their efforts, monitor their hours, and be responsible for ensuring adequate technical support for the presenters. Dalinda Bond, AECT Technical Facilities Coordinator, will send the acceptance notice for these positions. Upon this notification, your entire conference registration is waived in exchange for 12 hours of work helping with technology issues.
Volunteers may work at:
- Registration/Check-in Desk
- AECT Bookstore
- Technical and Network support
- ISMF Registration
- Equipment Distribution and Set-up
- Miscellaneous tasks
Volunteer qualifications are:
- AECT Member in good standing
- Master’s or Doctoral students will be given first priority.
- Be available for 4 of the 5 days during the conference
Additional benefits
Continental breakfast and break refreshments will be available during volunteer work hours throughout the convention.
