Dear Graduate Students,

I am very excited to be serving as the GSA President for the 2012-13 year. Graduate students are a significant part of the AECT membership and attendees at the AECT annual convention. The GSA serves as a voice for the graduate student members of AECT and provides professional development resource for our graduate students.

The GSA is currently working on several goals and initiatives of 2011-2012 year. These include providing opportunities for graduate student members to get involved with AECT and GSA through campus liaison initiative, revamping GSA website to improve communication with our graduate students, planning webinars in collaboration with several divisions to offer professional development, and planning for GSA activities at the AECT 2012 convention. I truly appreciate the hard work and dedication of our GSA leadership team in trying to make 2012-2013 an exciting and productive year for our graduate students.

Since I have gotten involved with the GSA two years ago, I have had the privilege to meet incredible graduate students and several AECT leaders as well as scholars. I encourage graduate students to stay connected to the GSA and AECT community, join the GSA Facebook page (http://tinyurl.com/AECTGSA), our Ning site (http://aectgsa.ning.com), and be on the lookout for announcements through our listserve.  In addition, I highly encourage you to get involved with GSA and consider becoming a campus liaison.
