Presenter Expectations

Concurrent, Panel Presentations, & Design-on-Display

  1. Be sure to bring your own device and any special accessories you need for your presentation, such as a dongle, clicker, or external speakersRefer to the interactive Convention Program for your presentation’s room location.  
  2. AECT provides the screen and projector or monitor with a standard HDMI connection.  
  1. Hotel Wi-Fi is available in all meeting rooms to support cloud-based presentation materials on your own device.  

  1. NOTE: Two concurrent presentations are scheduled in a session, and the program clarifies presentation time and order. Each presentation is 25 minutes, including audience Q&A and transition. It is recommended that you plan for approximately 15 minutes presentation time, 5 minutes for Q&A, and 5 minutes for transition. Panel presentations and Design-in-Practice sessions are 50 minutes. 

  1. Red Oak Events and Convention volunteers will monitor presentation rooms, providing technical assistance as necessary. 

 

Roundtable Presentations and Book Shares

  1. Be sure to bring your presentation materials and equipment. 

  1. Roundtable sessions are in large rooms with banquet-style seating with a table for each presentation. 

  2. This participatory format allows for a highly interactive presentation.
  3. A moderator will divide the time into two 25-minute sessions, so participants can visit multiple tables during the 50-minute session.
  4. Hotel Wi-Fi is available in all meeting rooms to support cloud-based presentation materials on your own device.
  5. Outlets may be limited so make sure your device is properly charged for your presentation.  

     

    Posters 

    1. Be sure to bring your presentation materials and equipment. 

    1. Poster designs are encouraged to use the empirically supported #EvenBetterPoster design. Poster sessions feature 3’x6’ tables with partition walls to support up to 36”x48” full-size posters or smaller, individually printed pages. Poster board tri-folds and pushpins will be provided to mount your poster.

    1. You will be able to set up your poster starting at 2:00 P.M. All posters must be set up by 4:15 P.M.

    1. Presenters are expected to be present with their poster during the entire session beginning at 5:00 P.M. for participant interactions. 

     

    Showcases 

    1. Be sure to bring your presentation materials and equipment. 

    1. D&D SHOWCASE: Each presenter will use one of the tables around the perimeter of the room close to outlets to set up their presentation. Note: Outlets may be limited so be prepared.
      DELT-TIL PLAYGROUND: The session is in a large room with banquet-style seating with a table for each presentation. If outlets are needed, you may set up at a table around the perimeter of the room.
