Advancing Scholarship Through Innovation in Writing and Publishing in Learning, Instructional Design, and Technology

Designed for a Different Kind of Progress

The is the dedicated writing and publishing retreat that mid-career and established scholars have never had. It is protected time to advance manuscripts, get candid editorial feedback, and build real publication pathways alongside peers who face the same pressures.

While conferences are designed to share ideas, this experience is designed to move your work forward.

July 13–15, 2026

Writing Studio Experience

For participants who want focused writing time, structured support, and early arrival into the Summit experience.

Who This Is For
Participants working on manuscripts, projects, or publications who want dedicated time and collaborative feedback
What to Expect
  • Small, facilitated writing groups
  • Stage-based manuscript development
  • Tangible progress each session
  • Collaborative publication design

The week begins with a two-day intensive Writing Studio, where participants work in small groups organized around shared writing stages. Sessions are designed for active development, feedback, and forward momentum.

Summit Convening Experience

For all participants coming together to explore, discuss, and shape the future of scholarly publishing.

Who This Is For
All Summit participants, including those joining midweek or attending the full experience
What to Expect
  • Publisher and editor plenaries
  • Concurrent editorial sessions
  • Collaborative workshops
  • Publishing Futures Forum

The Summit Convening brings all participants together for two days of shared dialogue, practical exchange, and collaborative exploration across the publishing ecosystem.

Participants don’t leave with ideas—they leave with:

  • A submission-ready draft
  • A collaborative publication concept
  • A clear 90-day plan

Publishers and editors are not just presenting—they are working alongside you, offering honest insight into how editorial decisions are actually made.

If your writing keeps getting pushed aside by leadership and administrative demands, this experience is designed to create the space—and structure—to change that.
